Glenn H. Riggs, age 89, of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was born in Hodgenville, KY on July 23, 1934, a son of the late Alex and Elizabeth Brown Riggs. A U.S. Army veteran, Glenn was a retired Kentucky State Trooper with the Kentucky State Police. During his tenure at KSP, Glenn achieved Expert Marksman and also served with the KSP Executive Security Detail for five years as security for the Kentucky Wildcats under Coach Joe B. Hall. Glenn served years as Executive Assistant to former Governor Wallace Wilkinson and worked at Wilkinson Enterprises post KSP. He is survived by: two daughters, Tracy Riggs Turner of Lexington, and Meleah Riggs (Robert) Powell of Henry County; four grandchildren, Ryan Foster, Megan Foster, Elizabeth (Travis) Eddins, and Robert Powell, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Ellie, Colt, and Sawyer Eddins; special friend, Cathie Regan; and four nephews, Charles, Gregg, Alex Riggs, and Terry Powell. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a brother, Shelby Riggs; and a sister, Reba Powell. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, April 26, 2024, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery with burial to follow. No visitation is planned. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy are suggested to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1733 Harrodsburg Road, Lexington, KY 40504.
