Glenn Harvey Schubert was born in La Grange, Texas on January 11, 1944, the son of Gerhard and Mathilda (Pietsch) Schubert, and grew up on the family farm. He was baptized by Pastor Paul Eifert at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas and was confirmed in March of 1958. He graduated from La Grange High School in May of 1962 and left the family farm to attend Durham College in Austin, Texas. After graduating college, Glenn moved to Dallas, Texas to start his work career with the Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas. A year later, Southwestern Life Insurance offered him a job in Data Processing.

Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. He completed his basic training at Ft. Polk in Louisiana and was stationed at HQ 6th Army in San Francisco, California. He was then transferred to Germany where he attained the rank E5 SP5. After completing his active duty with the Army, he returned to Southwestern Life Insurance and worked in Data Processing. Over the next 25 years, Glenn worked for Southwestern Life, Tenneco, and ICH. Ross Perot started a new company (Perot Systems) and Glenn worked for them for over 20 years.

Glenn was a visionary in all walks of life during his career. His work took him to nearly every state in the United States as well as overseas. He enjoyed his work, meeting people, and most all, fixing Data Center problems. In 2011, Glenn retired from Perot Systems as a Senior Specialist in Data Center Planning and Design SME. He received numerous awards and recognitions with most cherished award being the 'Character First for Leadership Perspective of a Visionary' award.

Glenn married Brenda Louise Knight in July 2000. He was a devoted husband and friend who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had several different hobbies which included: Pipe Organs (a favorite on his list) and Ancient Civilizations (what happened to them and why). He and Brenda supported each other in their hobbies. They enjoyed taking cruises, short trips, as well as long trips, always making sure there was something of interest that may provide information to one of their hobbies.

In his love for music and the church, Glenn was honored to have two hymn preludes published, commissioned Partitas for choir (one of which honored him), and also commissioned several hymn festivals for Lutheran church music.

Glenn leaves behind his step-son, William D. Woodson and wife Stacy; 3 step-grandchildren; nephew, Steven Schautschick and wife Dorothy; niece, Bonnie Bise and husband Troy; extended family, Nancy Schautschick and Keely Schautschick; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Brenda Louise (Knight) Schubert; parents, Gerhard and Mathilda Schubert; sisters, Lierra Schubert and Evelyn (Schubert) Schautschick; brother-in-law, Albert Schautschick; and nephews, Gary Schautschick and Ronald Schautschick.
