New Hope Funeral Home - SunnyvaleBeverly Wetzel, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on October 20, 1931, in Logansport, Indiana, and spent her later years residing in Mesquite, Texas. Beverly was a devoted administrative assistant in the oil and gas industry, working for Rosewood Resources, where she was well-respected for her commitment and professionalism.
Beverly was a dedicated member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church, where she actively participated in various church activities and sang in the choir, sharing her love of music with the community. An accomplished pianist, she found joy in playing and often entertained family and friends with her talent. Her passion for music was a cornerstone of her life and left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to hear her play.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Mischele Jenkins and husband Ken; grandchildren Shannon Sanborn-Nichols and husband Dennis, Rachael Rogers and husband Garry; great-grandsons Hunter Nichols and Shane Rogers; and sister-in-law Linda Kummer. Beverly touched the hearts of many with her kindness and spirit, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wetzel; father, James Kummer; mother, Gail Kummer; and brother, Tom Kummer.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Lake Highlands Baptist Church - 642 Brookhurst Dr. - Dallas, TX 75218. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Lake Highlands Baptist Church in Beverly's honor.
