Ruth Ann Wetzel

On Sunday, January 25th, Ruth peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crafton, PA, was a longtime resident of Mt. Lebanon and a recent resident of Friendship Village.

Ruth is survived by her children; daughter Sally Tarquinio, sons, Mark (Michelle), Scott (Cheryl), Mike (Kelly) and Larry (Laurie); her seven grandchildren Jason, Kelly, Brandon, Morgan, Jordan, Austin, and Kate; and her great grandchildren Vivien and Jane.

Ruth was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 52 years Lewis M Wetzel and son Lewis "Skip" Wetzel.

She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Kueshner; and sister to the late Tony (Judy) Kueshner and the late Irene (Ned) McGowan. She graduated from Crafton High School and the Carnegie Institute of Technology. Raising a large family would keep her very busy, however, she had an adventurous side to her as well. She picked up tennis when she saw how much her children enjoyed the sport and would play year round. She started snow skiing after the age of 50. Ruth was an avid bird watcher, she loved playing bridge, crafting and sewing, and she couldn't pass by a good garage sale. Family times at Deep Creek Lake created wonderful memories of swimming, fishing, boating and skiing. Above all, she loved her family deeply, and was the rock that held them together, and a friend to many.

Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS. Friends and Family are welcome at 2828 Washington Rd. McMurray, 724-941-3211 on Thursday, January 29, 2026, 2-4PM & 6-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2026, 10AM at Resurrection Parish, St. Thomas More Church, 126 Ft. Couch Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15241. Everyone please meet at church. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Village Health Center, 1290 Boyce Rd Pittsburgh, PA 15241. Please make checks payable to Lifespace Foundation FVSH and in the memo line designate Health Center.
