GLENN STILLINGS LITTLETON, NH -- Glenn Stillings, 79, passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2015. He was born in Jefferson, NH on November 29th, 1935, the son of the late Clyde and Mary Stillings. His Aunt Leola and Uncle Bill Nolan of Whitefield, NH raised him. He attended Whitefield High School and graduated from the University of Iowa. He also served in the U.S. Navy. Glenn and his beloved wife Marilyn (Corey), of 51 years, lived in Littleton where they raised their two daughters Tina and Tonya. During this time, Glenn was a physical education teacher, track and championship basketball coach, driver education teacher, and principal at Lisbon Regional School. He also served as assistant superintendent of schools, SAU 35. A few of his achievements include teacher of the year, NH basketball coach of the year, and NH Excellence in Education Award. He earned the respect from anyone who was fortunate enough to know him. He was a mentor, friend, and confidant to so many; a gentle soul. Over the course of his retirement years, Glenn was involved with the NHIAA, served on the bank board of directors, and continued his love of education in driver Ed until his last days here with us. Many a student will remember looking for deer while out driving, or even stopping so that "Mr. Stillings" could pick up a golf ball he saw on the side of the road. Glenn loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending days on the river. But his greatest love was his family. It could be as simple as a family dinner or hanging out on the porch. He relished having his grandchildren sitting on his lap, watching them play sports and dance in recitals, shooting hoop or playing miniature golf. It really did not matter what he did, as long as it was with his family. He lived to provide and take care of them. They all will dearly miss him. He is survived by his wife Marilyn, two daughters, Tina Stillings Nelson and her husband Errold, of Spofford, NH, Tonya Stillings-Smith and her husband Michael, of Newton, PA; two grandsons, Nicholas, 23 and Nathan, 21; four granddaughters, Ashley, 11, Kayla, 8, and twins Lauren and Victoria, 5. He also leaves behind his brother John (Jack) and his wife Karen, sister, Joyce and her husband Jerry. He was predeceased by his sister Sandra; numerous cousins and beloved friends. SERVICES – Calling hours will be held at the Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Home located at 101 Union Street in Littleton from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8th. A Mass of Christian Rite will be held on Monday, November 9th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church with Rev. Fr. Mark Dollard as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Rose Cemetery. Thank you to all who have asked about making a donation in our dad's honor. He worked at the Boston Boys Club in his young adult years and dedicated his life to the youth, thus, donations can be made to Boys and Girls Club of the North Country: BGCNC (please put "Glenn Stillings" on the memo line) PO Box 111 Littleton, NH 03561 or bgcnorthcountry.org (via PayPal link; and note it is in memory of "Glenn Stillings") (BGCNC has a federal tax ID # for those who would like.) The exact nature of the donations will be determined after they are received. Once again, thank you for all the love and support

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have so many fond memories of Glenn and I had the pleasure of spending much of my childhood with your family. He will be missed by so many people.

Marilyn, words can not begin to express our deepest sadness for you and your wonderful family. When Mike & Tonya moved in, who knew we would also get the Stillings family and what a blessing it has been; you have become part of our extended family. Oh how I looked forward to you and Glenn coming down for all the Smith family functions and saddened each time you left. Glenn was my buddy who 'I loved to talk with, laugh at and with and just thoroughly enjoy his presence; especially ganging up on Mike which we loved to do. For all of us who had the honor and pleasure of knowing him, we have lost a very dear friend. I send a big hug to you Marilyn and look forward to seeing you soon. With all our love and all the prayers we can lift up for you, your Pennsylvania family Gene, Beth and boys.
