Glenn Harrison Thomas

 

     Glenn Harrison Thomas, 79, of Old Fort, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at his residence.

 

     Glenn was born in McDowell County, NC, on September 30, 1943, to the late Alfred Thomas and Lula Edna Crisp Thomas. He was married to his wife of 58 years, Brenda Hope Duncan Thomas. He was a supervisor with Duke Energy, with whom he retired after 50 years of dedicated service. Glenn was a member of Joppa Lodge No. 401, A.F.&A.M. and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a faithful servant who loved the Lord. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. Glenn was a hard working man who loved his family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.  

 

     In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Thomas.

 

     Those left to cherish his memory included his wife, Hope Duncan Thomas; his daughter, Amy Rumfelt; his sister, Linda Carr; his granddaughter, Lacey Presnell; his great granddaughter, Carly Presnell; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

     A funeral will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. Rev. Harold Webb will officiate. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. Graveside Masonic Rites will be provided by Joppa Lodge No. 401, A.F.&A.M.

 

     The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
