June Lockhart Church Vance, 87, of Palatka, FL and Iaeger, WV passed into her heavenly home on August 21, 2024. She was born February 8, 1937, in Panther, WV to the late Robert G. Lockhart and Marlene Paine Lockhart.

June was a 1955 graduate of Iaeger High School and following graduation June began working as a bookkeeper at Southern Furniture Company in Iaeger. In 1961 June began her career with the Bank of Iaeger in the Bookkeeping Department. She was promoted in 1964 to Assistant Cashier and to Note Teller in 1970. In 1975 she held the title of Assistant Vice President. In 1999 she decided to retire from the 38 years of dedicated and loyal service at the Bank of Iaeger, now Pioneer Community Bank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert “Bobby” Church; brother, Ronald Lockhart; and sister, Julia Shelton.

Survivors include her husband, Homer “Van” Vance of Palatka, FL and Iaeger, WV; sisters, Vicki Cline of Princeton, WV, and Linda (Leroy) Roberts of Iaeger, WV; son, Danny (Donna) Vance of Simpsonville, NC; Daughters, Debbie Covington and Vanette Vance of Piedmont, SC; Lynn (Ralph) Roberts of Paynesville, WV; grandchildren, Summer Leifer, Ian McCoy, Ashley Hensley, John Hood, Daniel Hood, Milton Pittman, Shane Wood, Vince Wood, and Nicole Green; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Cole and Rev. Randall Dority officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens where Ron Lockhart, Tony Cline, Jeff Cline, Johnny Church, David Church, Ralph Roberts, Zachary Cline, and Brenton Helmandollar will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.cravens-shires.com.
