Gloria Ann Beretta

Gloria Ann (Marks) Beretta, age 88, of Penn Township, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born on June 19, 1937, in Manor, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Marks and Marcella (Byerly) Marks McElfresh and was also preceded in death by her husband Carl Angelo Beretta, son Charles Kidney, and step-father Roy McElfresh.

A lifelong parishioner of St. Barbara Catholic Church, Gloria's faith guided her throughout her life. She was an active member of the Ladies Guild and also belonged to the Young at Heart group, where she formed many lasting friendships. Above all else, Gloria was devoted to her family. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by those she loved, and she gave selflessly of herself to ensure her family always felt supported, cared for, and cherished. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. Whether offering guidance, encouragement, or simply her steady presence, Gloria's love was constant and unconditional. Her home and heart were always open, and her legacy of generosity, strength, and quiet sacrifice will live on through the many lives she touched.

Gloria is survived by her three children: Robert Kidney (Debbie) of Warner Robins, GA; Carla Beretta Garbowsky of Penn Township; and Dr. John C. Beretta (Amy Seaman) of North Huntingdon. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Sarah Gilbert (Charlie), Jonathan Kidney, Nathaniel Kidney, Allison Yurkowitz, Nicole Deemer, Ashley Dimperio (Dave), Jenna Garbowsky, Jaime Mele (Michael), Jordan Massung (Glenn), and Jake Beretta; as well as ten great-grandchildren: Brooke, Levi, Liam, Satch, Gibson, Judah, DJ, Dominic, Lane, and August.

Current arrangements are private. A celebration of Gloria's life will be held in the coming months and will be announced by Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc., 3343 Route 130, P.O. Box 465, Harrison City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Liam Anthony Lavelle Special Needs Trust, C/O Zachary Lavelle, 320 Richmond Drive, Jeannette, PA 15644, to benefit her beloved great-grandson, "Liam the Lion".
