Gloria Bomba

Gloria Belletine (Oppelt) Bomba, 92, of Newington, formerly of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She was the widow of William F. Bomba who died in 1983. Born in Hartford, daughter of the late William and Albertine (Garand) Oppelt, she resided in Berlin for over 50 years, until moving to Middlewoods of Newington in 2021. She leaves her two daughters and their spouses, Linda and Thomas Grzeika of New Bern, NC, and Susan and Dan Yeadon of Groton MA; three grandsons, Jonathan (Karen) Grzeika of Baltimore, MD, Jeffrey (Norimar) Grzeika of New Bern, NC, and Sam (Bryanna) Yeadon of Cumberland, RI; one great-granddaughter, Alitza Grzeika Nieves of New Bern, NC. She was predeceased by her brother, Francis Garand and her sisters, Arlene Mello, Dorothy Kirby, and Lorraine Dunn, and a granddaughter, Emily Yeadon. Gloria's family would like to thank the staff at Middlewoods of Newington, Masonicare, and Nutmeg Home Assistance for their care and compassion. The family also extends special gratitude to Lenore Beebe for all her help and assistance with Gloria's needs over the last several years. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington is in charge of arrangements.
