Gloria K. Burrell

Gloria K. Burrell (Kline) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Menno Haven Chambers Pointe Skilled Nursing Center where she has resided since 2019. She was 89 years old.
She was the beloved wife of 59 years to Bruce W. Burrell. Gloria was mother to Betsy Petch, Barbara McCann and her husband John, and Bonnie Dahl; and "Nanny" of four granddaughters, Sandra David and her husband Keith; Jessica Wolfgang and her husband David; Dr. Kathleen McCann and her husband, Dr. Robert Meehan; and Meghan Matthews and her husband, Michael; and five great grandchildren, Neveah and Johnathan David, Taylor Wolfgang, and Annabelle and Charlotte Matthews.
Born in Coaldale on May 11, 1935, Gloria was the youngest daughter of Winfield and Verna (Deem) Kline. Gloria graduated from Tamaqua High School, 1953, and the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bruce W. Burrell, her sister, Eleanor Fredericks, and grandson, Gregory McCann.
Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, classmate, neighbor, and friend. She left the nursing profession to be a homemaker and full-time mother and assisted her husband with his business, Burrell Masonry, Inc. For many years, Gloria was active at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Huntington Valley, PA, and greatly enjoyed bowling in the women's league, where she made many special friends. She also enjoyed traveling with family and friends and especially enjoyed time spent in Ocean City, NJ, and the Pocono Mountains. She was an avid fan of the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles and the Phillies.
Gloria leaves behind a legacy of a genuine love for family and friends, for her kids' friends, and for her neighbors where ever she lived. She truly bloomed wherever she was planted. Her love of people extended into her later years as a resident at Menno Haven where she loved the caring staff and her fellow residents.
Funeral services will be held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to Menno Haven Chambers Point Skilled Nursing Center, 300 Ridgeview, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
