Gloria Dale (Peoples) Elam, 82, of Springtown, Texas, entered into the kingdom of our Heavenly Father on April 20, 2025.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown, TX.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at White’s Funeral Home Chapel in Springtown, TX.
Interment: Springtown Cemetery in Springtown, TX.
Gloria was born April 15, 1943 in Plainview, Texas to Ira Lee Peoples and Catherine May (Pierce) Peoples. Gloria graduated from Post High School in 1961.
In addition to her love for her family, pets and friends, Gloria’s life passion was her devotion to research in genealogy and her family history. Her years of research would later lead her to writing and publishing her own book, “An American Heritage Story: Tracing the Ancestry of William Henry Peoples and Elizabeth Washington Peoples.” Gloria spent many years working within and later becoming the President of the Springtown Legends Museum in Springtown, Texas. Gloria was a member of the Parker County Historical Commission. She wrote historical markers for various locations around Parker County Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Catherine Peoples and a step-granddaughter, Casey Krebs.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joe Elam, her brother, Johnnie (Linda) Peoples, her daughter, Paula (Joe) Divine, her son, John (Rene) Wheatley; stepsons, Dan (Kim) Elam and Jeff Elam, grandchildren, Summer Koenig and Jacob Wheatley, step-granddaughter, Lauren, great-grandchildren, Brooke Krebs and Dylan Krebs, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
In Gloria’s honor, any desired donations can be made to Wounded Warriors, Parker Paws of Weatherford or any Humane Society.
Agnes Baptist Church will be providing a meal following the service on Saturday.
