Gloria Kaye Foster, 74, of Mt. Vernon, passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She was born in Mt. Vernon to Jim and Ester (Thompson) Payne on February 9th, 1951. She would marry Ronnie Foster, and they would spend more than 40 years together, till his passing. Gloria was of the Baptist faith. She spent more than 25 years as a personal assistant. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching soap operas and collecting clocks. She liked to dance, especially doing "The Twist". The biggest joy of her life came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by four grandchildren: Rachel Starr, Tore Von Burg, Heather Ellis, and Angel Wemmer; five great grandchildren: Traeonna, Dakota, Abel, Raylynn, Michael, and Logan; five brothers: John Payne Sr., Julian Payne, Fred Payne, James Payne, and Jesse Payne; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Ester Payne; husband: Ronnie Foster; son: Ronald Foster; and sister: Bonnie Payne. Cremation rites will be accorded, per family wishes. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sept. 16th, 2025, at the Christian Fellowship Church in Mt. Vernon. Sutherland-Rankin Funeral Home, PO Box 97/ 310 N.
