Gloria Jean (Garfield) George, 81, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, at Community Upstate Hospital. She was born in Syracuse to the late Francis Garfield and Rosa (Miller) Garfield. Gloria worked as a waitress for many years. She enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed fast cars, crocheting and playing pogo on her laptop. Gloria especially enjoyed sitting on her front porch on good ole Carbon Street and hanging out with loved ones.
She was predeceased by her two brothers, Francis Garfield and Raymond Garfield, and one sister, Grace (Garfield) Richer.
Gloria is survived by her sons, Edward "Eddie" Harrington, William "Buzz" (Tina) Harrington, and Robert "R.J." George; her daughters, Grace (Russell) Belcamino, Lucille (Jay) Soulia, Sheila (Gary) George; along with her "Greatest Blessings", many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who truly defined who she was, they were her absolute everything; she is also survived by her two sisters, Helen and Patricia; along with many nieces and nephews; and her beloved best friend for over 40 years, Wendy Varre, whom we owe many thanks for her support throughout the years.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., immediately followed by a funeral service in celebration of Gloria's life at the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd.) North Syracuse, NY.
