The friends and family of Ms. Gloria Goodwin, 69, of Elgin, South Carolina are invited to attend her funeral services this Friday, October 3, 2025, at 1 PM at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road in Columbia, South Carolina. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. The interment will be private. At the family's request, there will be no livestream, no videography and no photography allowed during the funeral services.

Gloria Jean Goodwin, a daughter of the late Clifton and Louise Goodwin, was born in Camden, South Carolina on March 10, 1956. She entered into enteral rest on September 29, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Gloria graduated from Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. She was employed at the South Carolina Department of Social Services. She handled a number of responsibilities throughout her career. For years she worked in foster care and foster home licensing. Later, she retired doing investigations for out of home abuse and neglect (OHAN).

Gloria was a faithful member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road. She served as a 3rd Sunday usher, Sunday School office assistant and Sunday School teacher. Gloria loved shopping, random adventures with her children, and relaxing at the beach. When she was not at the beach, she loved spending time outdoors, especially in the sunshine. She had a true passion for gardening and took pride in her yardwork, always ready with helpful tips for growing beautiful plants and flowers.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton and Louise McCaskill Goodwin; siblings, Edward Goodwin, Clifton Michael "Mike" Goodwin, Charles Rayford "Ray" Goodwin, and Phillip Reginald Goodwin.

Those left to cherish her memories are her two children, Twain (Monica) Stafford and Crystal (Michael) Caldwell; one sister, Deborah (Oliver) Moody.; aunts, Francis Weldon, Cecilia Richardson and Daisy James; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
