GLORIA GUBLER Obituary

GLORIA GUBLER APRIL 29, 1941 - APRIL 29, 2025 Gloria Jo Benson Gubler, age 84, passed away peacefully on her birthday, April 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in Central Valley, Utah. Born in Ely, Nevada, to Owen Stubbs Benson and Alice Johnson Benson, Gloria lived a life of deep faith, devoted service, and boundless love for her family and community. Gloria married the love of her life, Clair McKay Gubler, on October 27, 1962, in Montebello, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Bern, Switzerland Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 20, 1964a testament to their shared faith and commitment. She is survived by her beloved husband Clair; their children Brent (Teri) Gubler of Richfield, Utah, Diane (Brent) Evans of Logandale, Nevada, and John (Jennifer) Gubler of Alpine, Utah; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Alice Benson, and her brothers Richard, Maurice, and John Benson. A dedicated educator, Gloria taught for 32 years in the Sevier School District at Ashman Elementary, where she was among the first to bring computers into her classroom for students to use. Gloria provided the piano music for many school programs. She was a proud graduate of Southern Utah State College, and a lifelong learner with a gift for teaching and inspiring young minds. Gloria held many church callings throughout her life, but her favorite was serving as choir director, organist, and primary pianist, where she shared her love of music with others. A talented musician, she played both the piano and organ with love, precision, and excellence. She found beauty in simple things: Roses and Hollyhocks, her mother's carrot cake, trips to Lake Powell, and every moment spent with her family. Gloria was the heart of every family gathering and was happiest when she was surrounded by those she loved most. Whether cheering on Tom Brady throwing a touchdown pass, laughing through a demolition derby on bikes with the neighborhood kids (and even breaking her leg once in the fun), or doting on her dogs and cats; she brought energy and love to everything she did. She was quick witted and was the spark to every adventure. Above all, Gloria will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her family, her students, and her faith. Her life was an example of kindness, humor, resilience, and love. She was deeply loved and adored by her husband, who was also her devoted caretaker in her final years. A private family viewing and graveside service will be held, with interment in the Monroe City Cemetery. Burial services are under the direction of Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina, and Manti.
