Johnson Funeral Home - Lake CharlesMy name is Gloria C. Hebert. I passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2026. I want to invite all my friends and all who knew me to attend a memorial service and visitation with my family at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 9:00AM until 11:00AM. A rosary will be said at 11:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. Msgr. Jace Eskind will serve as Celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.
I was born in Houma, Louisiana to Edward and Louise Crochet. I was raised in Centerville, Louisiana. I attended SLI and married Roland J. Hebert in 1952. I am survived by our eight children, Carolyn H. Shepherd, Catherine H. (Andy) Cheselka, Edward J. (Gay) Hebert, DDS, Roland J. (Kayla) Hebert, Jr., Julie H. (Geoff) Wilson, Laurie H. (Reggie) Richmond, Evelyn H. (Todd) Napier, and Charles J. (Tressa) Hebert. I have nineteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, with one on the way; and two great, great grandchildren. I am so proud of all of them.
I was preceded in death by my husband, Roland J. Hebert, my mother and father, Edward, and Louise Crochet, and two brothers, Lt. Col. (Army) Elby J. Crochet and Lt. Col. (Air Force) Calvin J. Crochet.
I have had a great and blessed life and enjoyed many things. Most important to me was raising and supporting our eight children. I also enjoyed sports, painting pictures on canvas, crocheting, fishing, and growing blackberries and vegetables. I also enjoyed volunteering at The Boarding House Catering and Our Lady Queen of Heaven School, especially cooking rice for the carnivals, furnishing gourds for the art classes, and teaching painting and crafts at Villa Maria.
I want my funeral to be a joyous occasion. I thank God for letting me live so long to see all our eight children become successful and for having so many great friends.
