Gloria Jean Heeman, 75, of Stroudsburg, passed away on October 24, 2025.

"Don't worry, be happy!" was her motto. A fiercely independent woman with a strong moral compass, she made friends and spread happiness wherever she went.

After a challenging childhood, she gained her independence and had a fulfilling life. Working from the age of 16, she did more than most would expect and did it with perseverance and dedication. Her biggest joy was her home. Her artistic sense and inventive nature helped her create interesting pastimes, activities, and contributions to others. She especially loved her perennial gardens, all nine of them, many of which still grace various parts of our community today. Traveling whether by her beloved bicycle or any other mode of transportation, she reveled in the world and its many wonders. Game for adventure and meeting people along the way, she excelled in bringing cheer to others far and wide.

She would like to acknowledge the many people who helped her along the way: her teachers, friends, neighbors, coworkers, professionals, and even casual acquantances. She appreciates them all. A special thanks to her surviving sister, Patricia Whipple, and her niece, Dawn Camp, whose sustaining connection nourished her roots.

Truly, a ray of sunshine in this challenging world, Gloria's physical presence will be missed. The beauty of her being and the light she shared with us all goes on.

Gloria's life will be celebrated with a time of visitation and sharing on Saturday, November 15th from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg.
