Gloria Porter

 

Gloria Jean Porter, age 78, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.  Her visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Thursday, October 26, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Her services will take place at 10:00 AM in our Funeral Home Chapel.  Her burial will follow at Burns Cemetery Raleigh, MS.

Gloria was born on February 3, 1945, in San Antonio, TX to Robert Walter Lang and Cora Margeret Klein.  She had lived in Morton, MS for the past nineteen years.  Gloria loved gardening, working with flowers, knitting, being outdoors, fishing, watching Yellowstone and her dogs. She was an excellent cook and loved for her grandkids to visit.

Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William Jerry Porter; her parents Robert and Cora Lang; her sisters, Carolyn Bowman and Belinda Goode and her brother, Eugene W. Lang. She is survived by her five children, Timothy (Kimberly) Henderson of Brandon, MS, Matthew (Kristy) Henderson of Morton, MS, Angela Porter of TN, William Jerry (Stephanie) Porter, II of Conehatta, MS and Sidney Porter of Conehatta, MS; her brother, Robert Lee Lang of San Antonio, TX; her sixteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dexter Porter, William J. Porter, III, Kirkland Henderson, Sid Porter, Jr., Skylar Porter and Devin Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
