GLORIA "TETA SLAVA" PUST (nee Zupancic) age 90, beloved of August for 61 years; loving mother of Adriana (Brett Forrester); adoring grandma to Adriana's Pug dog Mikki; cherished daughter of the late Anton and Rozalija (nee Gabriel) Zupancic; dearest sister of Olga Petek (husband Frank), and the late Anton (wife Stefanie) and Rose Selan (husband Joe); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Gloria was born on June 21, 1933, in Trebnje, Slovenia and passed away on June 2, 2024. Gloria was a pioneer in the computer programming industry, achieving several certifications in the 1970s and 1980s, including data processing, computer programming, and systems development programming. She started her career as a teacher in Slovenia, then when she came to the United States in early 60’s, she worked at White Motor industries, May Company, and at the Cuyahoga Regional Information System (CRIS). She loved entertaining friends and family. She was famous for hosting her annual costume “Pust Parties”, her fall Beaujolais parties, and annual Slovenian New Year sausage parties. She loved her extended family and proudly held the family Thanksgiving feast celebration every year with up to 30 family and friends. She loved entertaining her family and friends at her beautiful Lake Erie beach home. She loved traveling around the world with friends and family had an adventurous spirit.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Gloria at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 9-11AM.
Prayers of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 AM.
Private entombment at All Souls.
