Perry Louis Papotta

Funeral Mass for Perry L. Papotta, 51, of Madison, will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, at Ss. Robert and William Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid.

Perry passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at U. H. Lake West Hospital in Willoughby.

Born April 15, 1974 in Cleveland, Perry lived in Willoughby Hills before moving to Madison 10 years ago.

As a child, Perry was very curious and mechanically inclined. He built a working engine for a toy bus for his nieces and would also pull the bus with his bike to give them faster rides.

Perry enjoyed riding his bike and frequenting the Record Exchange to search for his favorite music. The staff knew Perry well and enjoyed visiting and talking with him.

He was fun loving and enjoyed a variety of music. He wrote song lyrics and was also an artist who loved drawing designs for shoes.

Perry loved his family and friends as well as the nurses at Madison Healthcare. During visits and phone calls, Perry often asked about how everyone in the family was doing.

He was the cherished son of Margaret Mary (nee Banus) Papotta; loving brother of Laurie (Jimmy) Behm, Cindy (Drew) Hutchinson, Patty (Paul) Strasser, Connie (Randy) Coleman and Victor (Karen) Papotta; uncle of Nicole (Matt) Merritt, Dina (Adam) Ralston, Rory Walsh, Krista Strasser, Judy Hagan, Randy Walsh, Katie Strasser and Tyler (Elaina) Strasser; and great-uncle of Gage McKenzie (Kenzie Bailey), Reece Lockard (Lana Jade), Carson Hagan, Zoey Stockton, Benjamin Hagan, Elliot Ralston, Isabella Strasser, Mateo Merritt, Quintin Walsh, Kieran Walsh, Davina Strasser, Gabriel Merritt and Leo Strasser.

Perry was preceded in death by his father, Louis Robert Papotta.

Burial to follow Mass at Willoughby Memorial Gardens in Willoughby.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
