Ray Robert Herrick, 71, a resident of Geneva, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026 at UH Geauga surrounded by loved ones.

Born on March 21, 1954, Ray was the youngest son of the late Wayne and Alice (nee Stephens) Herrick in Painesville, Ohio. After living in Madison, he was a 1972 graduate of Geneva High School and later attended ACJVS for his HVAC certification.

He loved spending time with family, including many trips to Selma, Alabama, Geneva-on-the-Lake, and Waldameer. He proudly supported his granddaughters in their athletic and stage endeavors and was the best Cheer Papa!

Ray is survived by his wife Lori Lemponen, his daughter, Alice (Ben) Colucci, granddaughters, Mackenzie (Jacob Hlifka) Herrick, Melody and Gwendolyn Colucci, sisters Jayne Bodnar and Carolyn (Greg) Kaydo, and dozens of nieces and nephews who lovingly knew him as "Mean Uncle Ray".

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Martha Schaub, Floyd and Wayne Herrick, nieces Darniece Epperson and Andrea Savage, and nephew Douglas Savage.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Ray's life on Sunday, March 8th at 1 pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2243, 120 Depot St, Geneva, OH 44041. He will be interred at Maple Grove Cemetery in Plymouth township at a later date.
