Gloria A. Roland

Gloria A. Roland, 85 of Sullivan, MO passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at her home with her family by her side.
Gloria Ann was born on July 30, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to Arthur and Bertha Mae (Paul) Spears. After the passing of her father, her mother would remarry James O'Connor who would become her step-father and the man who raised her. The family made their home in St. Louis where Gloria attended Notre Dame High School.
In 1959, Gloria was united in marriage to Ronald (Sonny) Roy Roland, Sr. and four children were born; Tammy, Michael, Ronald, Jr. and Patricia. They made their home in South St. Louis where Gloria was employed for 20 plus years at Lutheran Medical in the housekeeping department. After retirement Sonny and Gloria relocated to Sullivan where Gloria remained for the past twenty-seven years.
Gloria loved to be on the go and enjoyed traveling. She also liked to camp, fish, thrift, read, especially her Bible, dancing and watching the food network. At the end of her life, Gloria's last words were, "I'm going to grab a fishing pole and head to my cabin in the sky". Gloria was a dedicated Christian and attended House of Hope in Sullivan. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by two children, Tammy Biermann and husband Ted of Dupo, IL, Ronald Roland and wife Gail of Richards, MO; eight grandchildren, Tamara Block of Imperial, MO, Emily Hoerner of Arnold, MO, Ted Biermann and wife Makayla of Omaha, NE, Julie Evans and husband Clint of Belleville, IL, Paul Biermann of Dupo, IL, Kalem Roland of Richards, MO, Mikaela Roland of Fort Myers, FL and Ryan Finnazo of Sullivan, MO; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Hannah, Addison, Theo, Haleigh, Saydah, Jude and Jade; nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Roland, Sr.; two children, Michael Roland and Patricia Finnazo; father, Arthur Spears, step-father and mother, James and Bertha O'Connor; siblings, Steven Spears and Linda Cole; grandson-in-law, Mike Block.
A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM, on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, MO. Interment will be private in Park Lawn Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
The Roland family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Eaton Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Sullivan, MO.
