COOLVILLE—Gloria J. Rood, 83, of Coolville, OH, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, at her residence.
Gloria was born Aug. 13, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of the late Sam and Evelyn (Kennedy) Shafer. She was a 1960 graduate of Parkersburg High School and retired from Appalachian Visiting Home Nurses. She loved gardening and raising her chickens.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Sullivan; a son, James and Garnett Rood and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Rood; a son, Brian Dotson and a step-son, Ed Rood Jr.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the Coolville Cemetery, with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating.
Visitation will be held at White Funeral Home on Monday from 11 A.M. until noon.
