July 1, 1946 - August 16, 2025
Gloria Schweitzer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 16, 2025, in Pierre, South Dakota, at 79. She was born on July 1, 1946, in Whitewood, South Dakota, to Helen Best and Clyde Smith.
Gloria shared her life with her devoted husband, David Schweitzer. Together they built a marriage grounded in love and faith. She is survived by her husband, David, and their children, Martin Schweitzer, Teena Matuska, Michael Schweitzer, Tracy Lopez, Tammy Tow, Tessie Watson, and their spouses. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and pride.
Gloria's bright smile, warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of love and family will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Gloria's life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Parish, 304 N Euclid Ave, Pierre, South Dakota. Flowers may be sent to the church for the service.
