Born on July 21, 1957, in Doylestown, Pa., Gloria was the middle daughter of James "Jim" and Sara "Sally" (Duckworth) Carlson. Her family later settled in Southwest Michigan, where she graduated from Benton Harbor High School.

I'm going to miss her dearly. She's been a solid part of my life forever. She had so much energy, and so many projects, and she always had plenty of time to sit and really talk with you. She was the kind of person who made you feel seen.

My last visit with cousin Gloria is one of my most treasured memories. Our mothers, Sally and Claire, were also able to be together one last time. It was a visit I will cherish forever.
