Obituary of Gloria Jarvis Siddoway
Gloria Jarvis Siddoway of Friendswood, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15 2025 at the age of 79. Gloria was born on December 29, 1945 in Fairmount, Indiana to parents Sylvester and Martha Jarvis. Gloria is survived by her son Ben Siddoway and wife Jessica; her granddaughter Elizabeth; her siblings Richard, Dennis, and Rita; and her many family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Sylvester and Martha Jarvis; husband Mark Siddoway; son Denton Siddoway; and siblings Elizabeth, Jerry, William, Frank, Mary, Janice, Nicholas, and Dale.
Gloria grew up in the small town of Fairmount before moving to Fort Wayne, Chicago, and embarking across the country to California. It was on the west coast where she met and married Mark, the love of her life, and together they moved to Houston to start a family. The Houston area was where Gloria and Mark always considered home.
Gloria worked in the business and convention offices for large hotels, and left work to take care her children Ben and Denton full time in the early 1980's. She was a tireless champion for her family. She always worked to pass on her resilience and optimism to Ben, Denton, and Mark, as well as to her extended family. No matter the situation, Gloria was always prepared and positive. Staying active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was central to her life, and she greatly enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the church.
Gloria enjoyed exploring with her family. She loved spending time with a nice view of the ocean and taking her family and friends to various beachside restaurants that she and Mark discovered over the years. Gloria was an avid crafter who loved sewing and crocheting, creating beautiful pieces and quilts for her family that will be cherished. She loved catching up with her large extended family, and documenting her family history. Gloria's memories will be held dear by all that knew her, she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
A funeral service for Gloria will be held at the Friendswood, Texas Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on Thursday, March 27th, 2025, beginning at 10:30 am.
Interment will follow the service at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
