Gloria Marie Spicher

1926 - 2025

Gloria Marie Spicher passed away on March 7, 2025 of natural causes.
 
She was 98 years old; born Sept. 11, 1926 to Richard E. and Mary R. Heidrich in Los Angeles. She attended Alhambra High School and Pasadena Junior College.
 
Gloria was preceded in death by her hero husband of 54 years, Wesley P. Spicher and survived by her cherished sons Chris (wife Lors) and Gary (wife April); grandchildren Eva, Alex and Shandra; great grandchildren Cordelia and Aiden.
 
She and her husband moved to the Antelope Valley in May 1953 after purchasing Antelope Valley Florist. They worked hard and built the business that is still in the family today. They were involved in many civic and political activities in the community; active in the Florist Transworld Delivery (FTD) organization, a national cooperative of florists.
 
After retirement, they purchased a building in Beaver, Utah. It was the last standing barracks building of the historic Fort Cameron (1876). Keeping true to the original structure, they converted this into their home and workshop for their antique business.
 
This was a 30 year project. During that period, they hosted many Antelope Valley visitors who stopped on their way north.
 
Wes and Gloria were avid travelers. They took their sons across the country numerous times and moving onto multiple trips to Europe. They loved camping, hiking, antiquing and doing family genealogy. After Wes passed away, Gloria continued to travel, did toile painting and created a beautiful garden at their home.
 
Gloria considered herself a quiet and simple person, She wanted no "gifts, glitz or falderal." She will be laid to rest in a private graveside service next to her husband.
