Gloria J. Weir

On Monday, November 24, 2025, at 2:38 PM, God realized a new angel was needed and so He reached down and put into His arms Gloria Jean Weir, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend, and took her home. Gloria was surrounded by family in her final days and peacefully entered her heavenly home.

Gloria was born in Chicago on January 28, 1941, to Arlene and Henry Lesh. Henry died in service to his country during WW2 when Gloria was three. Arlene remarried John Baranski and the family of three moved to Westfield, WI, where Gloria would begin her freshman year of high school. On Gloria’s first day in her new school, Dennis saw her across the entry way and told his friends beside him, “Someday I’m going to marry her.” On May 5, 1962, he did, and together they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Gloria and Dennis welcomed six children: Kristine Weir-Martell (Paul Martell); Todd Weir (Kara Weir); Kimberly Dolske (Tom Dolske); Kandance Ferrari (Joe Ferrari); Karianne Carr (Kristin Dassler-Alfheim); and Troy Weir (Jamie Weir). Over the years, Gloria and Dennis welcomed many grandchildren: Courtney Parks (Shane Dalton); Arika Wolff (Tyler Wolff); Ty Weir (Amber Weir); Aidan Ferrari; Jess Oursler (Gavin Glasenapp); McKenna Carr; Charlie Carr; and Traxton Weir. Most recently, Gloria and Dennis were also thrilled to have great-grandsons in their lives: Maddox Dalton; Archer Wolff; and Trey Weir. Gloria loved her children; she adored her grandchildren and great-grandsons. Gloria had many, many dear friends who were deeply cherished, including neighbors, classmates, and others around the country.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, her godmother, Jean Knudson-Unsen, dear aunts and uncles, and a grandson.

Visitation for Gloria will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Immanuel United Methodist Church, 401 W. Fond du Lac St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Funeral service for Gloria will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Ripon, with Rev. Dr. Heather Brewer officiating. A private family entombment will follow.

A memorial in Gloria’s name has been established with St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Those wishing to give are invited to send their kind contributions to the family at 526 Watson Street, Ripon, WI 54971, and the family will be sure that all donations reach St. Jude’s.
