Mrs. Gloriadine Wright, 72, of Marietta passed away on January 12, 2026. Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of F.L Sims Funeral Home, 1115 Clay Rd SW Mableton, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m..until 8:00 pm. Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, 11:00 a.m. in the chapel and interment will take place at Riverview Memorial Park, 5411 South Cobb Dr. SE Atlanta, GA
Gloriadine Wright, daughter of the late Algin and Mary Lucille DeRamus and the biological daughter of Leroy McCray, was born on April 4, 1953. She was born in Pamlico, South Carolina and departed this life January 12, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia.
Gloria attended Baltimore City Public Schools, graduated from Bay College with her A.A. degree and the Baltimore School of Hair as a Master Cosmetologist. She worked and retired from Verizon in Baltimore, Maryland. After retirement, Gloria worked for different companies such as UPS, Quintiles and Primerica. She was a licensed insurance agent in Georgia. Gloria also was a devoted & dedicated volunteer for the Wellstar Cobb Hospital and served as the secretary for the Wellstar Cobb Hospital Volunteer Department. She worked and retired from the Cobb County Sheriff Department in 2021. She then worked as a Bailiff for the Cobb County Courts until her passing.
Thirty-eight years ago, Gloria married her lifetime partner, William E.(Bill) Wright Sr.; they found each other through a dating app. When his company moved to Georgia, they did too. Gloria and Bill were greeters at Christian Life Center Worldwide where they attended weekly and enjoyed weekly Bible Study. Gloria loved God's people. She would show her love by uplifting through her singing, praying, listening, doing hair, pedicures & manicures, making cakes, cooking, creating cards, crocheting blankets, hats & scarfs and just encouraging in whatever way that the Lord led her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Algin DeRamus, Leroy McCray, Mary Lucille DeRamus, her sisters, Constance Chatlin and Kaybertha Baucom, her brother-in-law, Earl Hines Baucom; stepsiblings, Jimmy McCray, Patricia(McCray)Smith, Deborah(McCray) Monroe, Jeanette Palmer, Calvin Brice and LaVon Baker.
Gloria's exuberance (unrestrained in enthusiasm) will live on in the hearts and mind of: her devoted husband, William E. Wright Sr., her one natural son, Bruce J.(Melanie) Jordon Jr., one stepson, William E.(Gwen) Wright Jr. of Baltimore, Maryland, two Sister-in-Laws, Edna (aka Rita)Beach of Aberdeen, North Carolina & Bonnie McCray of Lexington, North Carolina. Two stepdaughters, Tonia Monroe of North Carolina & Regina Ridout of Fayetteville, N.C., her two brothers Gregory DeRamus of Baltimore, Maryland & George Jeter Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky, one sister, Bernadette McFadden of Baltimore, Maryland; her step siblings, Jerry (Carolyn) McCray of Columbia, North Carolina, Bobby(Rosa) Greene of Augusta, Georgia, Carolyn Baker of Washington, D.C., Janice McCray of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her legacy continues through her twenty-three grandchildren and forty-five great grands and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Gloria also leaves behind a loving and devoted friend, Klondike, affectionately known as Konnie.
