Glynn Mayers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Clinton, LA on Mar. 21, 2025.
Glynn Raymond Mayers, a lifelong resident of Clinton, passed away peacefully at his home in Clinton on Wednesday, March 19, 2025. He was 77 years old and was a loyal and trusted employee of Charlet Funeral Home for over 4 decades. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 10am until Mass of Christian Burial at 1pm. He will be buried in Masonic Cemetery in Clinton. He is survived by his wife of 11 ½ years, Alice McCrory Mayers, his daughters, Ronna Tanner and husband Cleve, Brock West and husband, Chris; Shay Parker and husband, Curt, Alison Haygood and husband, Davis; and Jackie Chase. Glynn was lovingly known as "Poppy" to his 10 grandchildren, Nicholas (Sierra) West, Denver West, Kobe West, Hayes West, Gracie West, James Tanner, Jacob (Amanda) Parker, Sam Haygood, Andi Chase and Aaryn Chase. He is preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Gwendolyn "Tammy" Mayers, granddaughter, Ali Elizabeth Chase, parents, Roy and Helen Mayers and his brother, Wayne Mayers. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Glynn was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and a LifeTime member of Clinton Vol. Fire Department where he served as Assistant Chief for many years. Glynn was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was always there when anyone needed anything from help with a flat tire or helping you move. He was just one of the "good ones." He was a true girl dad. He was always there for his girls, supporting them and encouraging them in every aspect of their lives. He was the epitome of 1 Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient, love is kind It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud."
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Clinton Vol. Fire Department.
