Godfrey Livingston Weir

Godfrey Livingston Weir, 92, of Ocala, Florida passed away on February 15th 2026 in Grace Davis

Hall Hospice House.

Godfrey was born in Clarendon, Jamaica to Cecil Weir and Nina Pusey. Here, he attending

Rollington Town Primary School, and after graduation attending motor mechanic school in

General Motors in Kingston. This trade became served his family and him for the duration of his

life. He dedicated his life to his church, coming to saving knowledge as a teen in the early 50s.

Here is where he met wife, Cynthia, whom he married on Boxing Day in 1957. Shortly after,

they moved to the States and lived in New York and New Jersey, working numerous jobs and

acquiring the extensive mechanic knowledge he is known for. They moved to Ocala, Florida in

the 80s where he served as chief mechanic for the ambulances at then Munroe Regional

Medical Center. He and his wife received the "Pillars of the Community" award for their service.

They also joined Ocala Bible Chapel where they were faithful members and ran the bus and

youth ministry. In his spare time, if he wasn't serving those around him, he enjoyed repairing

cars and caring for his diverse home garden.

Godfrey is survived by his wife, Cynthia; siblings Cecil, Owen, Vivienne, Trevor, Cecile and

Laurence. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Nina, and his siblings Daphne and

Bradford.

Funeral service will be held at Ocala Bible Chapel at Northeast 14th Street on March 7th with

Reverend Bob Saunders officiating. Burial and graveside service will follow at Good Shepherd

Memorial Gardens at Southwest 20th Street. Visitation will be held at Ocala Bible Chapel 10:30

to 12pm.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to all those who have sent condolences

and well-wishes in this time of grieving.
