Goldene was married to Sherman Wissink in Sioux Center on November 27, 1959. She served as the secretary at Sioux Center Christian School for six years before working as a seamstress. Over the years, she sewed countless custom garments and altered clothing for Bosch’s Clothing in Sioux Center. Later in life, she worked at Dordt College for Carrie Foods.

She and Sherm always enjoyed spending time with their cherished friends Gary and Sandy Draayer and Eldon and Wilma Vander Berg.
