Goldia E. Duncan Young, age 87, of Dover, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024, in Park Village Healthcare following a period of declining health.

Goldia was born on June 15, 1936, in Dover. She was a daughter of the late Jesse and Matilda (Huff) Mann.

She spent her lifetime caring for her family.  Goldia loved to visit with family members.  In her free-time she enjoyed reading, listening to Gaither Homecoming music and attending Dover activities.  She was a lifetime member of the Dover Moose and an auxiliary member of the former Dover VFW.

On June 30, 1979, she married James E. Young, and together they enjoyed 24 years of marriage before his passing in July of 2003.  Before Jim’s passing, they enjoyed traveling together.

Goldia is survived by her children, David (Rhonda) Duncan of Dover, and Tom (Renee) Duncan of Dover; grandchildren, Melanie (Mike) Carlson, Travis (Lainey) Duncan, Kristen (Adam) Taylor, Starr (Mike Nodianos) Amos, and Pete (Jessica) Endres; great-grandchildren, Payton, Kailyn, Ella, Elijah, Dakota (Trisha), Kruz, Evalynn, Brody, Alex, and Amelia; great-great grandchild, Atlas; sister, Harriette Kuhn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Goldia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Young; daughter, Susan Richards; granddaughter, Vanessa Duncan, and sisters, Minnie Gano, and Jessie Bitikofer.

The family will greet guests on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in Geib Funeral Center at Dover.  Pastor Brian Flood will lead a service celebrating Goldia’s life at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park.
