Gonzalo Socrates Sandoval Rivero

Gonzalo Socrates Sandoval Rivero, 71, of Bowie,MD passed away on November 8th, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children. Gonzalo was born on July 17th, 1954 in Oruro Bolivia, the son of Alfonso Sandoval Castro & Alcira Rivero de Sandoval.

Gonzalo married Blanca Alanes Omonte on December 18th, 1976 in Oruro Bolivia. Love story since they were only teenagers, married and decided to immigrate to the United States. Their journey continued in Maryland raising two children and having two grandchildren. Gonzalo had a great love for his favorite soccer team, The Strongest from La Paz Bolivia and a huge fan of Boca Juniors Soccer Team after living in Argentina. 

For over 30 years, he was a huge advocate in the Bolivian Community defending Bolivia’s Folklore and becoming the founder of Fraternidad Cultural Bolivia. Remaining to cherish Gonzalo’s memory are spouse, Blanca Sandoval; children, Ariel Sandoval, Miguel Chavez ( Son in law) Gisela Sandoval Chavez; grandchildren, Alessandro & Matteo Chavez;); Brother, Eduardo Sandoval; Sisters, Ruth Dixon, Rosario Valera & Gloria Sutton. He was predeceased by his parents Parents, Alfonso & Alcira Sandoval and brother Wilfredo Sandoval.
