Gordon H. Allmon was born April 6, 1947, in Winona, MO, to Chester Guy Edward (Bud) & Maggie Marie (Anthony) Allmon.
Gordon began his walk with God on July 28, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. at the age of 77.
Gordon graduated from Winona High School in 1965. He served on the Winona Fire Dept. for several years. He worked as a janitor and bus driver. He owned a couple of gas stations, but he spent most of his years driving a truck for Paramount Cap, after retiring, he was an asset to Dollar General, where he was always more than happy to help the customers.
Gordon was dedicated to taking care of his mother, making sure she never wanted for so much as a pack of gum. He was also a true, dedicated friend to most everyone he met. He loved with his whole heart. He chose to show his love, rather than to tell you. For the last several years, he had many health issues, but Gordon was a strong man.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents Chester Guy Edward Allmon (Bud) &
Maggie Marie (Anthony) Allmon, brothers Doyle Allmon and Richard Allmon.
Gordon is survived by his sister, Charlotte Allmon, who was his go-to person, brothers Donald Dwain Allmon (Mary) and Lowell Dale Allmon (Delores) a host of niece's, nephew's and beloved friends that are too numerous to mention. Gordon will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Falling Springs Cemetery or American Heart Association.
Celebration of Life will be held August 17, 2024, at 2 PM at the Assembly of God Church in Winona, MO. Graveside Service will be held on October 12, 2024, at 2PM at Falling Springs Cemetery with Darrell Jones Officiating.
