Gordon took great pride in tending to his yard and vegetable garden. He had a lifelong love of trains and could happily spend hours reading or watching anything related to them. A man of deep faith, Gordon studied the Bible every night, drawing strength and guidance from its pages. He also kept himself well-informed, reading the newspaper cover to cover each day. In the evenings, he rarely missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.
