Gordon Aubert Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 7, 2026.
Gordon Aubert peacefully passed away at home on December 3rd, 2025, just a few weeks shy of his 83rd birthday. He was born on December 25th, 1942 to Leslie and Alene Aubert in Parkdale, Oregon. The family lived on a working farm in Parkdale where Gordon would go on to become an athlete at Hood River Valley High School, participating in football, baseball and wrestling. Upon graduation, Gordon moved to Vancouver, Washington where he met and married his wife, Deanna, in 1962. They remained in Vancouver where they raised their two daughters, Terri and Kellie. Gordon had a long career with C.E. John Construction, where he began doing excavation work and eventually retired as vice president of the company. Over the years he enjoyed golfing, traveling to Reno and Vegas, and the tradition of Friday afternoon gambling at C.E. John, though his favorite hobby was definitely fishing. In 1971, Gordon along with a few close friends and family members, founded Chinook Sportsmen's Association on Baker Bay in Chinook, Washington. Over the years this became the summer gathering place for much of the Aubert family, spanning four generations to his great grandchildren. Gordon will be remembered for his incredibly generous spirit, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terri, his wife, Deanna, and his sister, Marcia. He is survived by his daughter, Kellie Fox (Rick Legg); his grandchildren, Jenni Olney (Brett), Andy Fox (Ariel), Taylor Wicklund, Duncan Wicklund, Joey Fox, and Bailey Wicklund; and great-grandchildren Max Olney, JJ Olney, Eli Fox, and Hallie Fox, along with countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

An open house memorial honoring both Gordon and Deanna will take place from 12pm to 4pm on March 14th, 2026 at 1004 NW 81st Circle, Vancouver, WA 98665. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
