Gordon Dale Burns

Gordon "Gordy" Burns, age 76, of Forest Lake, Minnesota previously of Sabula Lake & St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family the morning of September 16th, 2026.

In DuBois, PA on April 21st,1950 he was born to Labana and Mary MacDonald Burns who preceded him in death.

On November 27th, 1971, at the St. Marys Catholic Church he married Janice (Huggler) Burns who survives. They were blessed to share 54 years deeply loving and caring for one another.

He is survived by his sister Grace Wesliski of Indianapolis, Indiana; son Ricky (Diana) of Stacy, Minnesota; grandchildren Kayla (Steven) Burns of Coshocton, Ohio and Zachary Burns of Stacy, Minnesota; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Gordon was also preceded in death by his sister Shirley Bartlebaugh and brothers Arthur Burns, and William Burns.

Gordon graduated from DuBois Area High School in 1968. He later retired from Carbide Graphite. He proudly served as a helicopter mechanic in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren. He was a very avid reader of Western books. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending car shows and races.
