Gordon was my grandfather and I loved him dearly. He had unconditional love for everyone he ever met, and he taught me how important it is to try and help others whenever possible. I was there at his end and I will miss him dearly. What a hell of a run though! Love you Grandpa!!

Gordon was a wonderful Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and made his school proud. I enjoyed sitting with him at the GT vs AU football game in Tucson many years ago, and more recently visiting with him as his grandson Matthew was presented with our Arizona Georgia Tech Club Scholarship. Dressed in "White and Gold" will now have a new meaning when we remember him. My sincere condolances to all of his family for their loss, but I remind you that he is now walking on streets of gold and knows no saddness which should comfort us all.

We will all miss Gordon. Very few of our fellowmen have been as willing to help others as Gordon Cauble. If he was able to help you with a problem, he would. He was a very special person and I say "Good ride, cowboy!"

We will miss our long-time friend and Corvair enthusiast. Larry and Gordon had many, many fun times working on Gordon's Corvairs and driving them to various parts of the country for shows and other events. Gordon was part of our "family" and will be remembered as a very loving and caring friend to us and our two daughters. Larry and Gordon met while attending college in 1973 and struck up a friendship that lasted over 36 years. What a wonderful friend, father, husband and American. Gordon, we love you and will miss our visits with you and Suzanne.

It was wonderful being with him on the occasion of his 90th birthday party at his son's home in Virginia. He reminded me of my father-in-law, his half brother, David Z. Cauble, Jr., both kind gentlemen. He quickly placed focus on those around him, never himself.

To Mrs. Cauble: Two Sundays ago we sat next to each other in church. You may remember we discussed your husband being in VA. when I asked where he was. Although we greeted each other from time to time, we never talked at any length. Pleas accept my deepest sympathy to both you and your family.

Gordon was the type of man anyone would be proud to call a friend. The entire Senate of The United States of America validated this mans character, dedication & his abilities when they voted to make him a Brig. General of The U.S. Army. He served his country proudly, received a Purple Heart for his contribution at St. Lo France shortly after "D-Day" and retired after he served in Viet Nam.
Gordon Co-Founded The Tucson Corvair Association in the 1970's, was it's President more than once, he drove the finest 1963 Turbo Spyder Convertible in Arizona AND in the entire NATION (as judged by the National Corvair Assn.)!
He knew every part on every Corvair ever made and had most of them in stock at the ready when a Corvair owner would call in search of some needed item. He would even deliver it w/o a 2nd thought and up until a short few years ago, he would HELP you install it properly, charging you only for the part itself!
Each and EVERY past & present member of the TCA was his friend & mentored by him, he will be deeply missed by all who came into contact with him. He was the most gentle of Souls, the most gracious of people and the most wonderful of Spirits....he was a MAN above men.

What a wonderful gentleman and a fine friend. A joy to talk to, not only about Corvairs, but about anything in life. I will miss you my friend. Benny Maudlin
