Gordon Edwin "Ed" Dellinger

Gordon Edwin “Ed” Dellinger, 75, of Chesterfield VA passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, in Chippenham Hospital in Richmond.

Ed was born in Woodstock VA, but came to Bedford in 1958 when his daddy came here to help start Cotton Batting Inc. He graduated from Liberty High School, class of 1968 and attended CVCC. Like most everyone in Bedford, Ed worked at RUBATEX for a short time. He also worked at Dunn & Bradstreet for years and later drove big rigs. Ed retired from Ford Parts Distribution. Of all the things Ed was most proud of serving his country in The United States Marines. He was a member of The Elks, The American Legion, and the VFW. He was also a huge NASCAR fan.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Dellinger and Geraldine Clem Dellinger.

Ed is survived by his son; Sam Dellinger (Montana), and his granddaughter Klare Dellinger. One sister Sue and one brother Rick. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends, especially his Marine buds (Semper Fi), and his IFF buddies who have been Ed’s friends for life.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at The Bedford Country Club 3563 Peaks Rd Bedford VA 24523.
