Gordon Thomas Glatzel, 89, of Campbellsport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Kathy Hospice, West Bend. He was born in Milwaukee on February 9, 1934, the son of Anthony and Myrtle (Woehrer) Glatzel. On September 29, 1956, Gordon married June E. Christenson in Milwaukee.
Gordon was a graduate of Milwaukee Boys Tech. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Gordon was a city of Milwaukee Police Officer before retiring to Lake Bernice. He was a member of the Milwaukee Police Association, Campbellsport VFW, and American Legion Post #415. Gordon loved music and entertaining people; playing his guitar at many local establishments, mostly country music.
Survivors include his sons Michael (Sam) of Waukesha, Mark (Cheryl) of Brookfield and Ben (Elaine) of Grafton, his grandchildren Douglas (Valerie), Alyssa (Joel) Schwartz, Kristen (fiancé Kris Buckholz), Margaret, Andrew (Samantha), Colleen, Elias (Brielle), and Lydia (Hunter) Crass, his great grandchildren Nathan, Marshall, Vivian, Gillian, Nora, Mabel, and Lauren. his Sister Joan Sylvester, his sister-in-law Joanne Christenson, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, wife June on December 22, 2017, great granddaughter Cecelia June Schwartz, many other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Froedtert and Kathy Hospice and to all Police Officers that serve.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 25th at 1:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 350 S. Helena St, Campbellsport. Rev. Paul Cerny will officiate and burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Campbellsport.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 25th from 11:00 AM until time of service at the Church.
Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
