Michael G. Fingerhut peacefully passed away at Aurora Medical Center under hospice care in Fond du Lac, Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Mike was born June 8, 1947 in Beloit, Wisconsin, and attended Beloit Public Schools. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Mike became a history and language arts teacher, retiring in 2009 from Oakfield Middle School.
Mike was known for his love of teaching; his fondness for computers and all things electronic, not least his beloved Bolt; and his love of old movies, Blues, and 60’s Rock.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Thompson and her family; his brother, Don and his family; and many friends, who will miss his smile, his kindness, and his wholehearted willingness to help others.
Following Mike’s wishes, there will be no services. His ashes will be interred in Beloit at a later date.
Services are in the care of Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 North Park Avenue, Fond du Lac, WI, 54935. Additional information and guestbook can be found at ueckerwitt.com
