Gordon William Grau passed away suddenly on August 29th, 2023. Gordon was born in Irvington, NJ and grew up in Mountainside. He attended high school Springfield at Jonathan Dayton Regional High School and graduated in 1977. He was accepted at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, but chose another path.
Gordon ran his own trucking company called GW Grau Trucking. After that he worked in construction and landscaping until he retired. Gordon never lost his passion for gourmet food. He enjoyed cooking for Maria and his beloved dog Bella. He was a devoted animal lover who enjoyed music and classic movies throughout his lifetime.
Gordon will be greatly missed every day by his partner, Maria, Bella (his dog), and family. His sister, Susan Ferrara, and her children Jacklyn Romano (David) and Michael (Jessica). Second sister, Jennifer Price, and her husband James along with their children Christopher, Jason, and Joshua (Vicky), and younger brother Justin and his fiancé Cheryl Fusco along with his children, Steven, and Chelsea. His youngest brother, Marc Grau and four great nephews.
Gordon is preceded in death by his brother, Jeffrey Grau, and his parents; William and Georgette Grau.
A Memorial Visiting will be held at Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave, Westfield, NJ on Wednesday, September 6th from 3pm to 7pm. A Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, September 7th at 1030am at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 300 Central Ave., Mountainside, NJ.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Humane Society.
