Gordon Grey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home on Feb. 13, 2026.
Gordon D. Grey, 81, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Avantara in Groton, SD. Per Gordon's request, no formal services will be held. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Gordon was born January 4, 1945, in Aberdeen, SD, to Edward and Alice (Aman) Grey. He was raised in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.

Following graduation, Gordon joined the United States Air Force, where he faithfully served for 24 years. His military career allowed him to travel throughout the world; an experience he greatly treasured.

While serving in the Air Force, Gordon met Rosaleen A. Moran. The two were united in marriage on February 23, 1966, and together they had one daughter, Jackie Grey.

Gordon had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, tending to flowers, and building his coin collection. Photography was one of his passions, and he was actively involved in Boy Scouts. He especially cherished time spent with his great-grandchildren, attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and sharing coffee with friends.

Gordon will be remembered as an easygoing man of quiet wisdom and steady organization.

Grateful for having shared Gordon's life are his wife of 60 years, Rosaleen Grey; daughter, Jackie Grey; grandchildren: Chris Grey, Amanda (Carson) Hardie, and William Bayne; great-grandchildren: Benson Beck, Audrey Grey, Gannon Hardie, Adrian Grey, Caroline Hardie; and sister, Penny Tople.

Preceding Gordon in death are his parents, Edward and Alice Grey; and brother-in-law, Jack Tople.
