It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gordon Carl Pinkham, who transitioned peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on February 2, 1947, in Bath, Maine, Gordon spent his formative years in the fishing village of Five Islands, where he developed a profound love for the sea and the art of lobstering. Following high school, Gordon honored his country by serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and instilled a sense of duty and patriotism. Upon returning from service, he embraced the maritime lifestyle that he cherished, working as a lobsterman in his hometown. In 1981, Gordon found love when he married Marie Woodbury, introduced by a mutual family friend. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and laughter, living in Five Islands for 13 beautiful years before venturing to Florida. Their journey took them through Ocala, St. Petersburg, and finally, St. Augustine, where Gordon continued to support his family through his work in the seafood department at local grocery stores. Gordon was a devoted family man, and his fondness for family time was evident in the special bond he shared with his daughter, Kim, particularly as they cheered on their beloved New England sports teams-the Patriots and Bruins. Known for his independent spirit and generous heart, he approached life with a touch of sarcasm that endeared him to those around him. Gordon's faith was important to him, and he was a valued member of Petra Baptist Church. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan Pinkham & Cora Owen. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Pinkham; his daughter, Kim Pinkham; and his brother, Gary Pinkham, as well as many nieces and nephews. His legacy of love and humor will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Petra Baptist Church where those whose lives he touched will come together to share stories, reflect on cherished moments, and honor the profound impact he made during his time with us. He will be laid to rest following a service with loved ones, at Mountainside Cemetery in Georgetown, Maine, in the Spring of 2026. St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
