Gordon Keith Ricks, age 78, passed away September 20, 2025. He was born on October 7, 1946, to Alvin Joseph Ricks, Sr. and Mildred Marie Lemoine in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from Broadmoor High School/LSU in 1963.

Gordon married his wife, Marie Luna of 18 years on November 24, 2007. He was employed by Turner Industries LLC for 40 plus years. There he gained the love and respect of many of his coworkers. Gordon was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle.

He will always be remembered for his famous gumbo, his tireless work ethic, and above all, his deep devotion to his beautiful wife. A man of many talents, he found joy in dancing, singing, and playing his guitar- often bringing music and laughter wherever he went. Through years of hard labor and heartfelt service, he touched the lives of many and left a legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy.

He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in every shared song, every dance, and every bite of a good bowl of gumbo made with love.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife Marie Luna Ricks, sister Kathleen Ricks Arthur, brothers Darell Steven Ricks and David Ray Ricks, and daughters Debra Jean Flowers and Renee Ricks.

A public visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Seaside Reid Chapel. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 P.M. that same day. Entombment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are David Arreola (honorary), Larry Means, Jim Martinez, Dustin Sestak, Brent Smith, Hector Utley, and Robert Pequeno. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Adame, Joe Cho, Wendy Pena, Mayra Garcia, and Santos Trevino.
