Gordon D. Smith

Gordon D. Smith, 79, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 in Strongsville, OH. Loving husband of Rachael (nee Harness); Caring step-father of David Benjamin and Rebecca Palumbo (David); Son of the late Lewis and the late Florine Smith; Brother of Gail Bryant (Bubba); Uncle of Michelle Bryant; "Courtesy Uncle" of Donny West, Edward West and Aaron West; Godfather of Dena Hall; Cherished friend of Ed and Pat West and a friend to many others. Gordon was a long-time camper at Town and Country Camp Resort in West Salem, OH and was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force and Navy, being honorably discharged from both branches. He was also a member of the Masonic Order, the Ohio AmVets Post 32 and frequented the Parma American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests a memorial contribution be made in Gordon's name to the Berea Animal Rescue Friends at https://www.bereaanimalrescue.com/donate-today/. A Celebration of Gordon's life will take place at a later date.
