Gordon H. Travis

Gordon H. Travis of Paris passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Henry County Health and Rehab Center. His funeral service will be on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM at McEvoy Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Baker of Birds Creek Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Friday prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Doug Peppers, Brandon Holland, Anthony Peppers, Dillon Baccus, Ethan Peppers, and Eddie Jewell. Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Jewell.
Gordon H. Travis was born September 26, 1945, in Crittenden, KY, to the late Elvin Travis and the late Gertie Henry Travis Schwartz. On October 13, 1963, he married Patsy L. Potter Travis, and she preceded him in death on April 19, 2011.
Mr. Travis is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Doug) Peppers of Paris; grandchildren: Anthony (Bethany) Peppers, Dillon (Hanah) Baccus, Hannah (C.J.) Clayton and Ryan Peppers, and great-grandchildren: Ethan Peppers, Liam Peppers, Adelynn Rose Peppers, Rhett Baccus, Emmit Clayton, Austin Elsner, and Sabrina Elsner.
Besides his parents and wife, Gordon was also preceded in death by his sisters: Lucille Bingham, Virginia Jewell, Barbara Epperson, and Shirley Brown; and his brother, Virgil Travis.
