Gordon B. Wilson, 84, of Leicester and formerly of Charlton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at The Overlook in Charlton, with his loving family by his side.

He leaves his beloved wife of 31 years, Christine H. (McCurry) Wilson, of Leicester; his devoted daughter, Diane Beauvais and her husband Brian, of Ventress, LA; his stepson, Fellman Chutz and his wife Tammy, of Bueche, LA; his loving granddaughter, Olivia Beauvais, of Ventress, LA; and a sister-in-law, Ann Lavallee, of Leicester. Gordon was predeceased by his brothers, Ian and Donald Wilson, and his sister, Hazel Merriman.

Gordon was born in Southport, England, United Kingdom, son of the late Edward A. Wilson and Agnes (McDonald) Wilson. He attended and graduated from University of Oxford with his Bachelor's degree in Engineering, prior to moving to the United States. Gordon then began attending Louisiana State University to further his studies.

He had a long, instrumental career as a Civil Engineer – one of his first large-scale projects was having a hand in the engineering of the Big Cajun I Power Plant in New Roads, LA, of which he was very proud. In his later years, Gordon enjoyed working as a real estate broker and a school bus driver during retirement.

Gordon was very much a Renaissance Man, and enjoyed learning about history, playing chess, was an avid reader, and was a member of many clubs and activities, including the cricket club while living in London. As a Scottish Rite Mason, Gordon was affiliated with the Morning Star Lodge and the Worcester County Shrine Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Children's (https://www.shrinerschildrens.org/en/ways-to-give/donate).

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the Wilson family between 9:30 – 10:15 AM on Friday, September 5, 2025 at the BRITTON-WALLACE FUNERAL HOME, 91 Central St., Auburn, with a Masonic ritual at 10:15 and a funeral service at 10:30. Burial will follow at Rural Cemetery in Worcester.

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. I first met him in March 1981 when he was working for Bovay Engineers at Big Cajun II. Such a kind man. R.I.P. Gordon.
