Grace R. Aker, age 89 of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Altru hospital, Grand Forks, ND.

Grace Rose Ostgarden was born on December 17, 1935 to Clarence and Agnes (Viken) Ostgarden in Fertile, MN. She grew up in Fertile and graduated from Fertile High School in 1953. After graduation Grace worked as a waitress and later at the Little Dime Store in Crookston, MN.

On May 21, 1955, Grace married Milton Aker who she met at a dance. Together, they moved to East Grand Forks, MN, where Grace worked at Crestwood School. Together they loved going to dances, spending time fishing at Lake of the Woods, and spending time with their family. Grace also worked at Riverbend and was very proud of her years driving potato truck for Useldinger Farms. Grace spent many Sundays watching NASCAR.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Michelle Aker of East Grand Forks, MN; daughter-in-law, Faye Aker of East Grand Forks, MN; three grandchildren Jeremy (Jackie) Aker of East Grand Forks, MN, Rachel Aker of Nashville, TN and Becca (Ryan) Walk of East Grand Forks, MN; and five great-grandchildren Julia, Jolie, Jadyn and Jacob Aker and Emmitt Walk.

She is preceded in death by her husband Milton Aker, son David Aker, infant daughter Denise Aker, parents Clarence and Agnes Ostgarden, and brothers, Clarence "Bud" Ostgarden, and Oris Ostgarden.

FUNERAL SERVICE: 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 23 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church 1515 5th Ave. NW, East Grand Forks, MN 56721. Funeral will be live-streamed on Grace's page at www.dandahlfuneralhome.com

VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Wednesday.

INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery of East Grand Forks, MN
